Long Time No See

Let Me See, Where Was I ?
It's been over a month since my last post, and you probably have been wondering where I was, and you probably have been on pins and needles (especially if you are a seamstress or a milliner) wondering what was up with Femme et Fleur. It's more like what was down, because my husband, Richard fell down in our apartment. All the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Ricky back together again, but Dr. Robert Ziets of Beth Israel Hospital could. So one right hip hemiathroplasty later, and one month in rehab, during which Ricky was so uncooperative, I could have bopped him on the bean with a rotten tangerine, we are back home and making progress walking.

Thus I find myself in the position to create a blog post again.

Princess Grace
This was the scene last September at the
Palais de la Meditérranée Hotel in Nice, France.
The local paper had a story about
Princess Grace de Monaco.
Perhaps it was the anniversary of her death
which she met in an untimely manner as she careened
off a cliff into the sea.
Not to be unkind, but this toga dress would
win her no kudos on the red carpet.

What a charming family vignette.
Would haughty be a good adjective for Grace.
Or is she embodying "Her Serene Highness"?
Drawings
Drawing on vacation is definitely a must. My sister, Jeanne, has a black lab named Fern. I decided to create some stories about Fern in Nice. These I sent via letter, to my niece, Sarah Wedge.
Drawing, story telling and letter writing are best done
on the terrace of your hotel room.
Several bon-bons are de rigueur.
Fern in Nice.
Always the sun!
Dear Sarah,
I walk on the Promenade des Anglais.
I shop.
I eat ice cream, (3 scoops like Richard).
I love you.
See you soon,
Fern

Basque Beret
Almost as zany as a Richard Cramer drawing!

Thank you, Lola, for getting me back to Femme et Fleur.
À Bientôt!
